Biography

Dr. Chia-Ling Hsu is Assistant Research Fellow at the National Academy for Educational Research (NAER) in Taiwan and an accomplished scholar in psychometrics and educational assessment. Her research emphasizes advanced psychometric modeling and innovative assessment technologies, with notable contributions to Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT). By integrating theoretical advancements with applied practice, Dr. Hsu's pioneering research in computerized adaptive testing-spanning psychometric modeling, diagnostic accuracy, and test behavior analysis-has significantly influenced the adoption of adaptive testing in large-scale educational assessments.   Dr. Hsu's achievements have been recognized internationally, including the Early Career Researcher Award from the International Association for Computerized Adaptive Testing (IACAT) in 2024 and the Dissertation Award from the Chinese Association of Psychological Testing in 2014. Prior to joining the NAER, she served as Manager and Psychometrician at the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA), held a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Assessment Research Centre of The Education University of Hong Kong, and contributed as a Researcher to the Steering Committee for the Test Of Proficiency-Huayu in Taiwan.
