Biography

Yan-Rong Huang received his BS from National Taipei University of Education in 2006, MS degree from National Taiwan Normal University in 2009, Ph.D. degree form National Taiwan Normal University in 2016. He is currently an assistant research fellow in Research Center for Curriculum and Instruction, National Academy for Educational Research, Taiwan. His research interests include disproportionality in special education, inclusive education, special education policy, and secondary analysis of large scales databases.

The recent research focus has been concentrated on three main themes. First is the analysis of big data in special education, which involves integrating data from various educational databases to shape feasible policies or programs. Second is the investigation of course offerings in the field of special needs education, understanding the changes and learning benefits in the classroom after the implementation of the 108 curriculum guidelines, and exploring the need for enhancement and support in the professional competencies of special education teachers. Third is the exploration of disproportionality in special education, analyzing the phenomenon of disproportionality in the context of special education in our country.
