Biography

In terms of academic research, Lim's main expertise is in Taiwanese language studies, including analysis of Chinese character and phonology. In her early years, she was exposed to traditional Taiwanese opera and participated in the compilation of the MOE's Dictionary of Frequently-Used Taiwan Minnan . Later on, Lim was in charge of the "Taiwanese Language Proficiency Certification". She has combined her expertise in Taiwanese and testing for her doctoral dissertation and for a project related to the assessment in elementary and junior high schools.   In terms of social work, Lim has initiated the iTaigi project at g0v, a collaborative effort to build a website for Chinese and Taiwanese word translation.She served as the Secretary General of the Taiwan Native Language Alliance and was involved in promoting the "Development of National Languages Act". Later, Lim was the speaker of the Taiwanese language teaching program Speak Taiwanese Now on Formosa TV.   Lim's future development will focus on using her research findings to provide resources for the revitalization of the Taiwanese language and to promote it in school education and social education.
