The study aims to develop the design principle of digital textbook in language subject base on empirical finding in reading psychology, new literacy, and self-direct learning. In the first phase, a design principle will be developed via literature review, deep interview and classroom observation. In the second phase, a digital textbook template will be designed based on Subject 1 and an experimental deign, preliminary data analysis and result will be developed to valid the learning effect of the learners. Refine the suggestions for guidelines of designing digital textbooks will be revealed as well.
